Shantanu is currently the CEO of Adobe Systems. After getting a Bachelors in Electronics Engineering from Osmania University, Shantanu moved to the USA to pursue a master’s degree in Computer Science from the Bowling Green State University, Ohio. After graduating from his Masters, he moved to Silicon Valley and got a job at Apple. He studied nights while working at Apple, and got into the MBA program at Berkeley Haas. He left Apple initially to join Silicon Graphics, where he served as director of desktop and collaboration products for Silicon Graphics. He then co-founded Pictra Inc., a company pioneering the concept of digital photo sharing over the Internet. He left Pictra to join Adobe in 1998 as a senior Vice-President of worldwide product research, and was later promoted to executive vice president of worldwide products. He co-managed the company’s $3.4 billion acquisition of then-competitor Macromedia. In November 2007, Adobe Systems announced that Bruce Chizen would step down from his role as Chief Executive Officer, and he was to be replaced by Shantanu Narayen.
